An update for Artweaver Free and Plus 3.0 to version 3.1.6 is now available. You will get this update automatically over the Artweaver self update feature the next days.

This update includes the following improvements / fixes

• Buffer overflow vulnerability when reading AWD files fixed (CORE-2013-0701). Thanks to Core Security for reporting this
• Error in grow and shrink expression fixed
• Error on reading 1 bit BMP files fixed
• Error on using straight line mode with tablets fixed *
• Error on loading pen calibration settings fixed
• Hang on changing hairy brush settings fixed *

We are happy to announce the availability of Artweaver 4 Free and Plus. Artweaver 4 is the next major version of Artweaver with many new features and improvements of existing features. You can download the new version directly from the Artweaver homepage.

Due to the fact that Artweaver 4 Plus is a new major version there is a new license needed. But you can upgrade any older Artweaver Plus license to the latest Artweaver Plus version at a reduced price compared to the full version.

• Native 64 bit and improved support for multiple CPU cores *
• New tabbed document interface and improved appearance of the user interface
• Improved palette docking and many palettes are now fully resizeable *
• Many tools show useful information directly on the canvas while using them *

• Custom palettes support presets commands and command order is configurable *
• Team token locking has been replaced by an automatic locking which is more intuitive
• New soft profile and merge mode settings in paint engine and speedups *
• New effect filters: Portrait, Dithering, Video, Difference Clouds and Custom *
• Support for Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) devices which replaces Twain
• Improved work-flow for online update
